WHAT'S HAPPENING

Guitar Lovers Descend on Montreal in July. Artisan Luthiers from Bryan Galloup to Ervin Somogyi will be showcasing their wares on July 6-8 at the first Montreal Guitar show, a veritable smorgasbord of lutherie that will take place in conjunction with the Festival International de Jazz de Montreal and the Montreal Musician and Musical Instrument Show. The three-day event will showcase flattops, classicals, archtops and Gypsy jazz guitars from some of the finest and most skilled luthiers on earth, and provide a rare opportunity to play and peruse these works of art in private studios. www.salondeguitaredemontreal.ca/accueil_en.aspx

Correction: Luthier Jeff Traugott will not be showcasing his wares as reported in last month’s AG Notes. He is, however, serving on the Montreal Guitar Show advisory board. – Ed.
